The dedication of our employees is what has made us one of Hawaiʻi’s oldest kamaʻāina companies. Their safety, and the safety all those with whom we do business, is paramount. We go to great lengths to create an environment that supports everyone’s best performance, on and off our ships. It starts with proper training under leaders who build trust among co-workers and familiarity with equipment and conditions. We maintain strict inspection and maintenance schedules to prevent any mishaps. All of our port facilities are fully secured, and a Transportation Worker’s Identification Credential (TWIC) program is in place to guard against unauthorized entries. Our Safety Team continually monitors operations to ensure that we comply with all safety laws and regulations. And we provide ongoing training so our teams stay current on environmental and safety protocols. Young Brothers’ Safety Management System has been certified by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) as being in compliance with the International Safety Management Code (ISM) and the American Waterways Operators (AWO) Responsible Carrier Program. We are also certified by ABS as an ISO 9001 company for quality management.
